Event Standbys / Mass Gathering Medicine

Our team of industry leading professionals are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the areas of Planning, Logistics, Operations and Command of large, complex and multi-day events. Through the Communty's Type 3 Incident Management Team (IMT) we fully integrate with our public safety partners in the execution of these events utilizing National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliant Incident Action Plans (IAPs) and the Incident Command Structure (ICS). As the primary provider of out of hospital medical services in the community we provide all of the medical standbys within its boundaries no matter how big or small. We provide donated standbys for most community based requests and a competitive fee schedule for community enterprises and outside organizations. Should you need a medical standby for an event you are organizing please contact the Special Operations Chief at 520-796-4585 or send us an email.

NFL Super Bowls: The Community hosted the New York Giants in 2008 for Super Bowl XLII, the New England Patriots in 2015 for Super Bowl XLIX and the Philidelphia Eagles in 2023 for Super Bowl LVII. As members of the Phoenix Area CORE Planning Group the Gila River Incident Management Team (IMT) met and planned for over a year for each of these events. Since Super Bowl XLII the NFL has changed how Super Bowl host cities should organize, plan and operate as demonstrated by the Phoenix Area Core Planning Group. We helped set the standard that is currently being used across the country.
