Sex Offender Registration

The Gila River Police Department is releasing the following sex offender information pursuant to the Gila River Indian Community Sex Offender Registration and Notification Law and the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006 which requires the Police Department to make sex offender notifications to enhance public safety and protection. This information is not intended to increase public fear; rather, it is to inform the community of a sex offender living in the community and in your neighborhoods.

Appearance on this page DOES NOT INDICATE that a person is wanted by the police. Sex Offender Registry information shall not be used to commit a crime or to engage in illegal discrimination or harassment of an offender.

Offenders must register in any jurisdiction in which they live, work (whether compensated or not), attend any school, vocation, or college, or temporarily reside in the Community for more than 3 days.  If the offender has not yet registered, he/she may be charged in U.S. District Court for failure to register. The penalty for failing to register is up to ten years’confinement in a federal corrections facility and may receive sanctions in the Gila River Indian Community Court, which could result in one-year confinement and additional remedies that the Community feels would be an equitable relief.  A non-member who has been previously convicted of a sexual offence or violent offence may NOT reside on the Gila River Indian Community. A non-member residing on the Gila River Indian Reservation charged with a sexual offense or violent offense may be excluded pursuant to GRIC Code Section 8.104 following any finding of probable cause.
